On The Beach

Sandy beaches are the dreamed-about places of holiday fun, no more so than Miami Beach, Florida, USA. This long stretch of sand draws foreigners from cold or miserable climes – particularly from Canada and the UK. The beach is a place for low-key sight-seeing. Here we find the catalogue photographer with his umbrella, a little girl with bucket and spade, a deckchair tourist already bored with an airport novel. The sky is clear of clouds, the sand is clean and the water warm and blue. And that’s the point of it all – the beach - a place to clear up one’s emotional clutter.
